Factory warranties end. Extra Care Protection takes over: a service agreement from Toyota Canada that extends your mechanical coverage and roadside services, honoured at 1,500 dealerships across continental North America.

If a covered component fails: up to $100 per day for three days, up to $300 per occurrence — hotel, meals and alternate transportation.

If your vehicle must stay at the dealership because of a covered component, ECP provides rental vehicle assistance.

Jump-start

If your Toyota won't start, it is towed to the dealership of your choice within 50 km, or to the nearest one within 300 km.

Timing matters

ECP is added when you buy a new vehicle or a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle. Some benefits, including the maintenance program, require enrolment within 31 days of registration. After that, your options narrow — it is the single most common reason customers miss out.

If you run out of fuel, up to 5 litres are delivered free of charge. Battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles are towed to the nearest charging or refuelling station.

A vehicle while yours is repaired

If your vehicle must stay overnight at the dealership because a covered component needs more than eight hours of work, your alternate transportation costs are reimbursed for up to five days. If a part is on back-order, five more days are added.

Trip interruption and planning

Broken down more than 300 km from home? Hotel, meals and transportation are reimbursed up to $300. On request, ECP also prepares a personalized travel kit: maps, routes, points of interest, accommodation and the Toyota dealerships along your way.

The Platinum plan

The Platinum plan is so comprehensive that only a few components fall outside it. For vehicles with a 12-month or 16,000 km oil change interval, it also includes the first three years of the Maintenance Program — provided it is purchased within 31 days of warranty registration.

Maintenance services exclude periodically replaced items: air filters, wiper blades, belts, hoses and brake pads.

Frequently asked questions

Is ECP an extended warranty?

It is a service agreement from Toyota Canada, not third-party coverage. It extends your vehicle's mechanical protection and roadside services, and it is honoured by the Toyota network — which sets it apart from warranties sold by independent companies.

How long am I covered?

Up to 7 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. Several terms and coverage levels exist: the right one depends on your annual mileage and how long you plan to keep the vehicle. An advisor runs the numbers with you.

Can I service my vehicle elsewhere?

Covered repairs must be performed at a Toyota dealership using genuine parts. That is what makes the work recognized throughout the network.

What if I sell my vehicle?

The agreement is fully transferable to the new owner. A used vehicle still covered by ECP sells faster and for more.

Is everything covered?

No. Coverage applies to mechanical components. Normal wear items, tires (except through road hazard protection), glass, paint and bodywork are excluded. Ask us for the full details before signing.
